Although tomato paste is not a fresh product, some people still swear by its healthy ingredients, such as vitamins. In fact, tomato paste contains 1.24 grams per 100 grams of beta-carotene, i.e. vitamin A. Also contained in tomato paste is lycopene.

This is a plant substance belonging to the carotenoids, which protects the body’s cells from attacks by harmful free radicals and can also prevent cancer. But it also contains a small amount of vitamin C, which is often found in fruit.

If the tomato paste is otherwise well processed, with tomatoes that were free of antiparasites and preservatives or other sweeteners were omitted, tomato paste is actually very healthy for the body. Nevertheless, you should pay attention to the quality when buying it.
