What distinguishes Sharp televisions from other manufacturers?
Sharp offers a wide range of different models with various functions and is, compared to other manufacturers, reasonably priced. The large selection sets Sharp apart from the competition, as they are not only able to reach a certain group of people with their TVs.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of a Sharp television?
Another advantage is that there are many different models. This means that no matter how much money you want to spend, there should be at least one TV in each price range that fits your budget.
One disadvantage of Sharp TVs is that not all models are optimised for internet use.
What are the alternatives to Sharp TVs?
Another alternative would be a “curved” TV. You can get these TVs from Samsung, for example.
Decision: What types of Sharp TVs are there and which is the right one for you?
At Sharp, you can distinguish between two categories of TVs. The first category would be Smart TVs and the second category would be LED TVs. In the following, we will go into the advantages and disadvantages of the two types.
What are Sharp Smart TVs and what are their advantages and disadvantages?
Smart TVs are sometimes called hybrid TVs because they can do more than an ordinary TV. They have additional computer functions, the most important of which is Internet capability.
With this device you can do more than just watch TV. For example, you can download different apps and also stream movies or series. SO, Sharp TVs support the Netflix streaming portal. This streaming portal is often pre-installed, so you only have to log in.
These additional functions can all be controlled with the supplied remote control. So you don’t need any other devices to use the TV.
What are Sharp LED TVs and what are their advantages and disadvantages?
The abbreviation LED stands for “light-emitting diode” and is responsible for lighting the TV. LED offers a cheaper and more efficient option than a conventional LCD screen. In addition, you save electricity with an LED screen.
Buying criteria: Use these factors to compare and rate Sharp TVs
Internet capability
If you want your TV to do more than just watch TV, then internet capability is important. It allows you to access more functions that require Wi-Fi or LAN.
These include streaming portals like Netflix or amazon prime. You also need an internet connection to download apps. You can find out whether the TV has this capability directly from the data sheet or the product description. Sharp’s Smart TVs are all Internet-enabled and usually come with pre-installed apps.
It is also possible to access internet browsers with Sharp Smart TVs. This allows you to access your email, for example, or to call up news.

HDMI connection
HDMI stands for High-Definition Multimedia Interface and is available on many models. You will usually find the connection on the back of the TV. You can use it to transfer data from a compatible device to the TV. An HDMI cable is used for this purpose.
Compatible devices include game systems, computers, laptops and DVD players.
The more HDMI connections your TV has, the more devices can be connected at the same time.
Most Sharp televisions therefore offer at least one HDMI connection. Many sets even have multiple HDMI connections, so you can connect many devices at once without having to swap them out all the time.
Resolution
The first thing you notice about a TV is the resolution of the picture. Again, Sharp offers many options for you. From HD to 8K resolution, everything is available. You should consider which resolution makes sense for you. The standard resolution for TVs is 720 x 576 pixels. A Full HD resolution is already 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.
The higher the resolution, the sharper and more detailed the picture. The AQUOS 8K 70″ from Sharp, for example, has a resolution of 7680 x 4320 pixels. This resolution is only achieved by a few televisions on the market.
Size and width
One of the most important factors for a TV is its size. So you should ask yourself how big and wide your TV should be. Size is also reflected in the price. In addition, your TV should also fit in its intended place.
Sharp offers many different sizes, so you’re sure to find the right one for you. Note that the size is usually given in inches and screen diagonal. One inch is equal to 2.54 centimetres.
The smallest Sharp TV is 22″ inches, i.e. 55 cm. Meanwhile, the largest Sharp TV on offer is 70″ inches, i.e. 177 cm.
harman/kardonยฎ sound system
All Sharp televisions that are 32 inches or larger are equipped with a harman/kardonยฎ sound system.
These have been tuned for a room-filling and powerful sound. Sound systems from harman/kardonยฎ are very popular worldwide and are also found in JBL systems, for example.
Mounting
Sharp TVs come with stands that you can use to position the TV. Depending on the model, either two small stands or one large stand are used.
It is also possible to mount the TV on the wall. To do this, you need a bracket that fits your TV. You can see which bracket is needed on the back of the TV. It may be that the brackets on the Sharp TV are covered with a sticker. You can remove these without difficulty.

How can I record with the Sharp television?
To be able to record at all, the TV must be PVR “Personal Video Recording” capable. However, it is easy to find out whether your Sharp TV can record. Depending on the seller, this function is usually listed under “technical data”.
It is also possible that the technical specifications do not say PVR, but USB recording function. If this function is not available, then you cannot record with the television. However, if this function is available, you can record with a connected storage medium, such as a USB stick. There should be a record button on the remote control for this purpose.
If the recording still does not work, it may be because you have to change the region of your TV. In particular, older Sharp televisions cannot record in the regions of Germany and Austria.
Which apps can be installed?
To install apps, you need a TV with which you can access the Internet. Sharp has the Smart TV series for this purpose. The Netflix streaming portal is often already installed on these.
To install an app, press the Home button on your Sharp remote control. Then press Apps. Now you can see which apps are available and download your favourites.
Since each provider uses a different system, the apps may vary. In addition, some Sharp models have Google Assistant installed. This means that you can log in to the TV with your Google account and thus also have access to the Google Play Store.
How long is the warranty valid?
In most cases, the warranty period is 24 months from the date of purchase. If you want to return your TV, you must present two things. Firstly, the warranty card supplied with the product and secondly, the invoice or receipt.
These two items must then be presented to the seller. You should also make sure that the warranty does not cover damage caused by power failures, incorrect unloading, carelessness or incorrect use and tampering.
